I can give MJ credit for being a pop icon and all, but this is a little cheesy and ridiculous. But I am sure they will sell a bunch.....

Man!, That family will not give up. When he passed the they must've raided the vault. I've seen more Beatles commercials and Michael Jackson music set to commercials than I've seen in all my life. Guitar hero for the Beatles. Did they just raid all his stuff or what. Now the family has given permission for this "stuff". Mike is worth more to the family dead than he was alive. I think they killed him.

As far as the Beatles music goes, Paul McCartney bought it back (for huge bucks) and I think he's trying to make some of that money back.

Whatever your opinions of MJ might be, I think any "coin" like this is deeply cynical and exploitive. But, slap a sticker on a lousy quarter and get your bucks from fans and/or collectors? That sure took creativity...and class. So buy now...or wait for the garage sale.

I grumbled about the Elvis postage stamp. For this I'm considering gouging out my eyes.

I think it was H. L. Menken who said that nobody ever went broke underestimating the taste of the American public. The really sad part of this story is that the people who are making and selling these "coins" are probably going to make a fortune!

LOL - hey, by the way - those Corey Haim coins just went up in value. Gone at 38.........not that I'm surprised.
I think they need to commemorate Laser Discs, Howard Jones, Talking Heads, The Outfield, Ready for the World and Prince as well.
