Enough already I know folks but I gotta share these with you. I've been on a Bolivian tangent due to a collection that we bought at work and hey lookee here. A nice 1871 UN SOL from Peru. Tried to capture the mint luster and believe me it's all there. Nice AU or better coin IMHO.
Peru's version of a Seated Liberty dollar?

I'll get back to my Barber quarters when I'm through with this lot. Haven't seen a lot of Barbers recently but these are really a nice diversion in the meantime.

Great looking coin! whats the diameter? I also collect Peru coins, because of the very nice Rev design and subjects they have on their coins, plus luster too.
Great find clembo!

clembo- Very nice! These really are a pretty series, and they are really overlooked by the collecting world. IN fact, you can find those from the 1920s & 30s for dirt cheap. Seriously, you can pick up AU coins for about melt (since that is even the approximate value given in the Krause books).

Very nice Clembo. Judging from your other posts, that's quite the haul from your store. I gotta be honest, I'm a bit jealous.

A very unusal hoard for us Snowman considering we're about 30 miles from Chicago. Not exactly a hot bed of South American coinage.
Plus the fact that it basically just walked in the door. The people had taken it to a pawn shop first and they had no interest in it.

The biggest in the batch is actually eight 8 Real cobs. We sent four to NGC for authenticating and grading.
This stuff is way beyond me identifying but if real one should get a lofty grade. Found a few slabbed on ebay and saw a VF30 that paled in comparison. Wouldn't be surprised if it comes back AU.

We'll know in about a month I reckon.
