Is there a chart available that will show the price history of different numismatic coins?

For example, how can I find out what a 1929 $20 St. Gaudens MS64, cost back in 1995?

Thanks?

This may not be what you are looking for, but in the back of the RedBook, there is a list of the Top 250 coin prices realized at auction.

At the Coin Dealer Newsletter website you can buy copies of the graysheet for any issue back to 1963. At one time they published all the information in a single book but that book is costly and hard to locate. Keep in mind that before the 1986-87 era there were no MS grades or slabbing so direct comparisons of values before and after that time are iffy. Before 1979 there were no grading services so grades before then could be very questionable.

For those reasons comparing value trends from before and after those times is of doubtful validity

Buy a set of the Red Books, that is how I do my research.

And they are collectible.
