It is wider than a normal nickel and from all of the descriptions I have read I think it is. Please confirm or explain what I have found.

A broadstruck (not broadstrike) coin looks like it was created with one single hit. Yours appears to have been beaten with a hammer. Sorry, not an error at all, it was pancaked out with a hammer or some other beating instrument.
