I had used buy it now on two items on August 31st and used PayPal. And the items were just shipped out today (Sept. 8th)!

Also this seller and many others charge enough for Priority Mail but only ship via First Class. In my case this seller charged $5 which is clearly enough for Priority Mail but instead they are using First Class.

There also has been a time or two that I received coins via Media Mail.

At the same token, unless they specify they are going to ship priority, then they don't have to. Shipping also include handling charges for supplies and stuff. You also have to figure Paypig is going to get a small percentage of that shipping charge. I have sold a few things on ebay the last couple of months. In most cases there was only a small difference in price between first class and priority (less than 20 cents) unless you use a flat rate box. I think most sellers realize the loss they take if they charge the exact shipping charge (cost of packing materials, tape, Paypig fees) that they overcharge a little. I try to charge around a dollar more than I think actual shipping is going to cost. I don't have a scale and I just guess at it. I way undercharged on shipping on an item I sent out recently. The buyer offered to pay the difference...I declined and only netted 8 cents after all the fees. I stated the shipping charge and stood by it! If you're going to shop on ebay, expect to pay a little more than actual shipping! If you feel it's TOO much more...then I would hit the feedback!

$5 is a reasonable shipping price regardless of method. My issue would be that the seller waited 8 days to ship your item.

Unless the seller made known the fact that shipping would be delayed, I would ding them on the feedback for timeliness.

P.S. I don't like ebay so this issue is not a problem for me any longer.
