It's between 1.65 and 1.75 millimeters in diameter.

All I really want to know is how old it is and whether it's Roman, Byzantine, etc.

Here's the obverse...

This is a late Roman of Constantine II as Caesar. Inscription reads: CONSTANTINVS NOB C, reverse is two soldiers standing on either side of two standards holding a spear and resting their hands on a shield. Inscription looks like GLORIA EXERCITVS, Siscia mint. Augustus from 337-340 AD.

I can't see a second "N"; I believe the obverse legend says FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C, which would be Constantius II during his period as "caesar", or junior emperor, from 324 to 337 AD.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

Must be time for new eye glasses, didn't see the the missing N. Sap is correct Constantius II.
