Found this item in ebay. Was wondering about its authenticity
at first glance as I couldn't tell.

Thanks and appreciate the help!

It is without a doubt a fake and an obvious one at that. The IGWT motto on the reverse was not used until 1866. Even without that obvious sign, the coin just does not look "right" even with the small lousy pics I just reported it to ebay, lets see if they can poof it before it ends

another fake, it's not even a good one at that! I love how the description reads, part of my husbands collection, being sold by our divorce! But yet, people that have little to no knowledge of coins are bidding on it

no doubt a fake.

Otherwise why would a $12,000 (in MS-63) coin sell for $187.50?

I guess that is why they are getting the divorce.
He probably paid the 12K for the fake coin.

Or worse, she got it as part of the divorce settlement and her ex got the car.

Wow! That is a great use for fake coins. Bait in the event of a divorce. She goes after the $250,000 coin collection that you got in Hong Kong for $50, and you might get to keep more worthwhile stuff.
