Hello all. I acquired a 1976 $10 Knight Wheeler with THU serials. According to Maccas this should have Gothic Serials (which it does) and have a Side Thread.

However this note clearly has a Centre Thread.

Do I now assume that Maccas is no longer accurate?

G'day, centre threads were pretty much in the centre in 1966.
Later there was some variation.
Then they moved well over to the side.
I wouldn't "assume" that Macca is inaccurate: you might be looking at a "variety" ... perhaps even an "error".

Where exactly is your thread ?

Hi Peter,

the thread is 71mm in, exactly the same as the THT prefix which is supposed to the the last prefix for the Centre threads.

Cheers Simon
