Hi all,

I have a set from the Leningrad Mint - It has a paper insert that says:

50 YEARS
OF THE GREAT OCTOBER SOCIALIST REVOLUTION
(1917-1967)
THE SET OF JUBILEE COINS

The plastic wrap is very brittle and has torn around the 1 Ruble. The set consists of a 1 Ruble and 50, 20, 15 and 10 Kopeks, along with the Leningrad Mint medal. Are these sets worth anything? I wanted to at least take them out of the plastic before they all fall out but not if I would lessen their 'set' value.

thanks in advance

I might disappoint you but this set is relatively common as mint sets (in cellophane). At best, you might get about 10-15USD but not likely anymore as these were struck in millions. The 1967 non-commemorative mint set is another story.

Nah, not disappointed... I can at least now save them from the cellophane and store them in something a bit more sturdy. Thanks a lot for the info

I was in St, petersburg recently and bought this for 300 roubles, ie, €8 or so, they had lots of sets in the mint shop there in the St. Peter and Paul fortress next to the mint (they were not the best quality thought). They put them in this plastic thing that basically sticks the coins in, so I had to take all the sticky stuff off of the coins, but I did not get the medal!
