That coin was worth about 7 Billion Dollars
(in Zimbabwe Dollars) in melt value in April 2009!
That's 7 Billion times face value!

Considering that all of us (in the U.S.) would certainly pick up
a 1964 Dime off of the ground, and that's only 12.5× face in melt
value, (an infinitesimally small percentage of ×face, next to
the Zimbabwe $1 coin), and certainly you Aussies would pick up any
prewar 92.5% Silver pre-decimal coins that you saw laying on
the ground, I think it's safe to say that Mr. (or Ms.) Zimbabwean
would pick that coin up at record speed!
This does make you wonder how many Zimbabwe coins were melted there in 2008-2009!
