I found this real nice 1DR-024 in a regular roll of pennies from my local bank, not in a solid LP2 Roll from the Mint.

It seems that the DDR's for the LP#2's are starting to show up in regular bank rolls, especially since there are so many of them!

This is the second one that I've found in regular rolls- the other was a 2009P LP2 1DR-014.

I guess luck of the draw coop, although there are not many DDO's/DDR's for the LP3's so far unlike the numerous one's for the LP2's.

*I have not opened any of my boxed US Mint rolls. I've been finding 2009's in regular mixed penny bank rolls.*

The ones you do find in circulation look like they have been there a long time. Some already dark colored. Not a pretty sight.

I have been pretty lucky with them , MOST of what I have found are still pretty pristine and MS grade 2009's but I have also found a couple of clunkers that I just throw back into the mix.

I've started to find LP1 and LP2 in bank rolls too. No doubled dies though. I opened 3 of the 5 LP3 boxes from the mint with no doubled dies either. I'll keep the other 2 unopened for now.
Chuckster is right... luck of the draw. Coop's right too........nasty looking LP's in the bank rolls. They weren't that nice in unc condition.

It is not surprising that you are finding lousy ones in bank rolls. I attended the release ceremony in Springfield so I had completely fresh, unmolested rolls. I broke one open to sell individuals and I rejected probably 20 of the 50 coins for having an excessive number of spots and dings. I noticed that a couple even had fingerprints

I've noticed areas of where the planchet wasn't flat and left areas lower. Like shallow pot holes. A lot in the LP2's. Must of been in a hurry to buy and crank those out on the mints runs.
