For the most part I'm pretty easy going, let things slide, and deal with what I get. But I just bought two notes from a guy and something is kind of bothering me. Read my two emails, which are over a week apart.

email one
I really think that you could have listed these items, in the auction itself, that one of the bills had a tear. I was lead to believe that I was getting two fairly good looking notes (which they are) but I was dissapointed that one had a tear.

I want to know what you have to say about this.
Thanks,
Ty

Hello,
I am still waiting for a reply about the auction I won. I wanted to ask why you did not list the notes as one having a tear in the item description. It was dissapointing when I received the two notes, both of which I thought looked like nice notes, and seeing that one had a tear. I want to know what you have to say about this. If I don't receive an email within a week from today I'm just going to leave a negative feedback. I'm not too sure whats so hard about communicating about this. I'm sure you value your feedback as a seller, and all I'm asking is for a simple reply.
Ty

So should I keep my word if he doesn't respond or should I deal with the fact that I bought them with only the pictures to rely on?

And I sent him msg's through ebay through the ask the seller a question about the transaction tab thiny.

Just a purely analytical observation. The pictures of the notes do show the tear. While there is no mention of the condition there is also no hype or false promises attached. Pictures are clear and do not look shopped.

On the personal side I think the seller definitely should have been in contact with you already to address your concerns. It is just bad business to ignore customers. Short of just returning the notes and going separate ways I don't know what you honestly expect the seller to do. You have made attempts to contact and voice your concern with the seller but nowhere do you mention return policy or preparations for such.

I think the seller should have given more specific information about the notes but then again with absolutely no information, you are left to your own judgment. You overlooked the tear in the pictures. There are two schools of thoughts. Both have their merit in different light. I do side with the thought they should have more accurately listed the condition. Seller did not find in some old attic, they know paper and are familiar with what even a small tear does to currency values.

Enjoy them or return them, but trying to corner some seller about how they run their business generally will just be met with little cooperation towards solving your situation.

Perhaps one last email sent through ebay's system stating again you have not been able to contact or reach them about your issue. The auction states a return policy but they have not been responsive. Please advise.

Then go back and file a claim through paypal based on the auction as outlined by the seller not being followed. Petition for refund...that should get some attention, and by then all the bases are covered for any retaliatory behavior or dodgy behavior from seller. Seller is out of line for not following their own outline, not just getting shoved into some pile of buyers remorse claims.

Always remember some folks travel. He may have completed his auctions and then had something that is nailed his foot to the floor on a business trip away from computer. There are still active auctions so I highly doubt he is legitimately out of reach but one never knows how "life happens" so there still might be a good ending to this situation.

Good luck.

Yes, I agree that he doesn't say anything about the condition and I probably should have gotten my glasses out when looking at the picture. And like you said, for his sake he should have been a little more descriptive; since he sells quite a bit of paper in the first place.

But he did message me today and he did say he was out of town. After looking at the feedback he left, he did quite a bit on the 18th and 19th, so he probably isn't lieing. So I'm just going to ask for an exchange on the one with a rip, or I'll just keep what I have. Just a reply is what I was looking for. Maybe I have a problem when people ignore me or something.
