For a picture of the full coin, you might have some luck with your cell phone camera. I'm sure folks here would like to see what you're talking about!

Going for cheap, I bought a 2mp USB microscope camera. Not happy with it. I will eventually switch up to a 5mp or better. There is a forum here for coin photography where you can ask technical questions.
