I'm using the seller pics instead of my own here, they capture the toning much better than my pictures do. This is a gilt brass coin, it is a combination of the brass wearing off and the toning of the brass left on it that gives it the coloration.

I find the subtle pastel hues of orange and blue of the edge toning on this York County, ME Tercentenary commemorative half dollar to be attractive! Overall, the coin has a satiny, lustrous appearance.
