My deeply gold-toned 1811 silver shilling token issued by Joseph Hunton of Yarmouth, Nofolk, where he was a prosperous linen draper and merchant. Interestingly, Hunton was hanged 20 years later in London for crimes of fraud and forgery involving "false bills of exchange."

While handbills advertising his upcoming execution were hung all around London for days ahead of his execution, Hunton himself was hanged at Newgate on the 8th of December, 1828.
Or, as our friends Merriam and Webster put it: Of course, as always, rules are made to be broken...but that's not mandatory.

Thanks, guys! And DoctorBurnzy, another pretty exhaustive report on Hunton's downfall and execution can be found in the contemporary "Newgate Calendar," accessible here: https://www.exclassics.com/newgate/ng598.htm.Hunton was referred to in that report as a former slop-seller and sugar-baker whose criminal undoing "...excited considerable attention from the circumstance of his having been long known in the City of London as being a person of good repute, and also from the fact of his being a Quaker." You never know...
