Renniks' 22nd edition 2007 values this note:
VF $4,250
EF $10,000

Item number: 280397698374 on ebay was listed bt a dealer in Singapore, and was described as "XF". Auction closed yesterday: 37 bids; AU $3,738.85.

By way of context: an Australian soldier's pay in 1939 was 42 shillings per week, so this note was more than a month's pay when it first circulated. Which might explain why not many appear to have been hoarded since that time by collectors.

Completion of my collection of the ten-pounds series remains some time away ...

hey Peter, nothing to do with this post, just a question.. I had earlier started a post on Newfoundland gold but got pulled for not knowing ..new member and all..
