1866: VF-35 details cleaned/corroded.
1st 1868: XF-40 details, reverse damaged and possible light cleaning
2nd 1868: AG-3

Well, I got them for 11$ off of the bay. They are still my best sheilds.
How much is the value hurt by the cleaning?
How can you tell they were cleaned? (I believe you, just want to know)

You got all 3 for $11? Even with the damage, that is a really good deal. The first one looks like it was treated with an acid or something really strong in attempt to get the corrosion off. The color is unnatural for a worn Shield nickel and there is a lot of pitting. It has seen better days. The second looks pretty good except for the reverse digs. It looks a tad bright, as it may have been slightly overdipped.
