I've posted this coin before but I wanted to get some better photos. These are the new and improved images. What would you say for grade (or maybe you remember!). Bonus points if you can assign the correct Overton number. This actually should be one of the easiest Overton varieties to determine.

The attribution is pretty easy, as you say - O-120A, and late die state at that. Definitely a $kilocoin - a PCGS XF40 (and in my opinion yours is no worse than XF45) recently went for $1380 at Heritage. Beautiful coin.

I wonder what I said the first time.

in a quandry
Looks like EF-45, but I like to think AU-50.
Reverse is really really nice.
I got the feeling that the striker was tired.
But for a more informed opinion,
you may send it to me!!
Rest in Peace

What a beauty! I agree that based on the amount of remaining luster, it is very close to AU-50. TPGs are more generous in my opinion with early coins, so I would not be at all surprised to see it in an AU-50+ holder. If I had it raw, I'd probably call it a PQ 45.

I purchased this coin in Long Beach back in 2002 for my type collection. I chose it because I really liked the Heraldic Eagle design and this specimen had very sharp reverse detail. I wasn't particularly interested in the Overton type and found out later that it has an R-6 rarity rating in this late die state. The dealer gave me the listing from a Stack's auction in which this coin was previously sold and they listed it among the condition census for the variety.

My grade before scrolling down was XF++ or AU-50... leaning towards AU-50 due to the remaining luster. Very nice coin.
