Unfortunately I have no pictures.

The coins/medals in question are 1000 and 2000 Bipkwele 1979 from Equatorial Guinea. Both commemorative of a Spanish royal visit. They are not listed in Krause, but an internet search seems to imply they might be considered coins anyway. Can anybody here tell for sure? I would also appreciate an estimation of value. Grade: UNC.

They're now listed in the "Unusual Coins" book, so apparently they're not official coins.

There are two versions of each denomination; one with the king and queen, and the other with just the king.

The coins are sterling silver, but I can't help you with "book values".

Thank you, Sap. I was afraid of that. Since I collect only coin (official ones) I will not hold on to these, but it complicates things that I have no idea what to charge for them. Most likely they are worth only bullion value, but it would be nice to be sure.

We are talking about the version with the king only here.

The new "Unusual Coins Catalog" lists the 1000 B as $20 UNC and $27.50 Proof. The price is the same for the two types. They have 1/3rd ounce of silver so they hava a book value above silver. Mintage for each type was 5,125 Unc. and 3,000 proof.
The 2000 B are valued at $25 Unc and $30 proof. Both types are the same and mintages are identical to the 1000 B.

I would peg their actual value between bullion and Krause.
