Can someone please help me identify where this particular coin of James Monroe came from and how much it is worth? It has a side view of his bust looking to the right on the front. On the back it has an inscription of his accomplishments. With the phrase "the last cocked hat" at the top and " Monroe Doctrine" on the bottom. Sorry I don't have a picture yet.

Most likely a medal or token rather than a coin.

What you are refering to is a token. They come up on ebay as the one shown here starting around $1.00
