For some reason, I thought the general discussion area was where the main coin forum is located, but I just learned that I'm wrong. So is it some sort of chatting area or something like that? I also just tried to go in, and then I received an email saying that Susan and Bobby are working on it. Does that mean I'll have to wait a while? Thanks.

I just checked and the GD area is open for me, if you do not have access and would like it let me know. the Main forum is different than General discussion even though its in the General Numismatic Discussion Forums (Non Country Specific) area with it

Ok, I would like access to see how it looks, but do I have to ask every time I want to go to the GD area?

you do not have to ask each time, it is an opt-in kind of thing, once you ask to be able to access it you name is added to the list of people that is accepted, but if for some reason you do not wish to go there any longer we can also remove your name from the list in the same way and it will not show up for you any longer

No, once you've opted in, it becomes visible to you unless you opt out again.

I think you need to logout and log back in for it to become visible

Ok I was able get in after logging out and then logging back in. Thanks for the advice and help.
