Sometimes coins go up crazy..sometimes they go down crazy.. recently, I've seen a 1928 Uncirculated half crown, with a good amount of lustre and strong strike on bust (good hairlines and good beard detail on good ole' George V) went for roughly $ 14,17 US on ebay. I find this price lower than what I'd expected... what do you think?

Another, a for $ 7,50 US I have seen five circulated half crown cois, 1921,22,28,29,40 went altogether.. I think this is very close to the scrap value, if not lower. All of the coins are circulated and little/no numismatic value for a serious colelctor, but c'mon guys, scrap silver is high!.. what do you think?

Another, and last for this time, 1945 Choice UNC Silver (English) shilling with good bust and hairlines details and very little bag marks went for US 7,61 $. I find this a little bit higher than what I expected. What do you say?..

I have to correct it.. the hairlines and beard details on 1928 halfcrown seems to be a weak strike, yet not pretty detailed... I must have missed it when I checked the picture.. so it is, a 1928 Unc george V halfcrown with lustre and weak strike on bust.

G'day, ebay is of some value as an indicator of market interest and market valuation.
The weakness is that finding someting on ebay depends on how thorough the seller is in preparing his listing, and how thorough a buyer is in using ebay's search facilities.
Assuming that we get over that hurdle, if the listing has few or poor pics, a lot of potential buyers are put off. If the listing is accompanied by inflexible terms about means of payment, postage, etc, more buyers are excluded.
The less buyers, the fewer bids, the lower price: not because of lack of interest, but because of poor selling tactics by the seller.
