A friend has a 1972 D Eisenhower dollar that has developed prominent copper streaks on both surfaces. Is it possible to get rid of them? He kept it in a tin box along with a few other coins but this is the worst. I've now supplied him with some non-PVC seal bags to keep them in to prevent further corrosion.

I think that whatever it is, it might be a permanent part of the coin. I would have to see a picture, but even then I might not be 100% sure.
