i see the us mint just announced they will not be producing the 2009 siver proof or the 2009 uncirculated silver eagle.i am extremely disappointed as will my grand daughter as I have always given her one for her birthday.

I know the proof is off, however I believe the uncirculateds are available.

Per Mint terminology, the Uncirculated version is the one with the W mint mark introduced in 2006. The only 2009 Silver Eagle available is the bullion version sans mint mark.

exactly what I was going to say. The Bullion version even though they are considered Uncirculated in the collecting world they are not the Uncirculated version the Mint offers to individuals, you had to get the Bullion versions from dealers because the mint didn't sell them to individuals
