I sell on ebay and a guy in Canada won 3 nickels from me. I want to ship them to him in a #000 Bubble-Lite mailer, which is 8 inches by 5 inches and 1/4 inch thick. The whole package, including the coins weighs 2 ounces. He paid me for the coins via PayPal through ebay's check-out system. When I try to print a shipping memo, with postage, through PayPal it only gives me two options, Express and Priority. Both of these cost a lot more than I charged my customer as part of the listing. Not only that, Paypal wants me to fill out some type of custom form. So here's my question: Isn't there some way I can just slap some postage on this thing and mail it? Does it have to be as complicated as PayPal makes it seem? The coins are only worth $10.00, total. Any help/guidance will be appreciated!

you should be able to ship it first class but I don't think you can print that out online, just take it to the post office and send it that way

You have to take it to the PO to ship it first class. It will require a customs form also available at the PO. shipping should not be more than a couple of Bucks...

The guys are right..... Take it to the post office and you will get a little green sticker to declare the value $10.00 no other forms to fill out, the postage will be about $1.00 to $2.00 first class mail and let the buyer know that it usually takes 6 - 10 business days.

In my opinion paypal is a joke for shipping as the costs are always higher ( sometimes 5 times as much as your buyer paid for an item )

I ship to and receive items from the US from here in Canada and the average mailing cost for one or two coins in a bubble envelope is $2.25 Canadian and from the US to me average $1.85 - $2.75.

Yeah, that's the way I do it to Canada. Otherwise, I slap 2 first class stamps on my 000's and mail it

I just send mine in 2x2's between non-corrogated cardboard cut to fit the inside of a regular envelope and taped together. The outside of the envelope is marked with the addresses and the postage and in big red letters, "Hand Cancel, Please". Never had a problem. No need for a customs form, or anything. Everything arrived without a hitch.

I purchased a coin from a British Dealer recently, and he shipped it using the Paypal method, in a padded mailer. When I received the package it was slit open on the end and the coin was missing. The address label had Paypal Name and Logo on it and the Custom Label Description was the same as the auction title "RARE COIN..". This was a sure giveaway to any dishonest postal employees what was enclosed in the mailer. The dealer would have been smart to use his own shipping method rather than have Paypal get some Free Advertising on his mailer.
