Hi,
Can this coloring be caused from running through a washing machine?

More likely spilled a drink on it.

Washing machines make notes softer. Like an unnatural softness in both texture and detail. Don't take my word for it....Toss a dollar in a pocket of some jeans and let it go for a ride in the name of science.

I had a number of bills that looked similar when my wallet got soaked. Fishing incident, wasn't pretty. Anyways, it was brown and some of the dye transferred onto the bills. The bills in the middle didn't show much but the outside ones right up against the leather were light brown in color. Not unlike those. Just a thought. P.S. I've left my wallet in the trunk when I fish ever since that fateful day.
