Is it my imagination or are there a lot of broadstrikes and raised rim dimes? I opened my rolled dimes this week to see if there were any that I needed for my circulated sets and found quite a few 1998, 99 and 00 dimes that were off centered and had unusally high rims. I kept a few but, there were so many it seemed ridiculous to keep saving them so I just rolled them back up. Are they worth anything? They are minor broadstrikes. Slightly off on the left (obverse) and smaller rims on the right (obverse). ?

Thank you for moving this - oh duh! Should have thought of that myself!

Hi Guys

It would be good to see pics of the coins your describing !!

Im thinking that what you are seeing is minor die alignment problems, since a Broadstruck coin is one that is struck outside the retaining collar, they are very obvious when seen.

I probably won't get around to scanning these until Tuesday morning, but I will do it. I see sn31 where you didn't get an answer before on an error coin so I will get these up for you to see. The dimes have a rim on the left that is twice the size of the rim on the right. The others have very high rims. They just look strange but, since I've found soooooooo many of them? Till Tuesday!

Do they look like this one?

Broadstruck-Dimes

If so. It is REAL common. I think QC at the mint may be going downhill...

It's hard to tell from a photo (for me) but, the rims look a little more lopsided and higher I think.

I see why we like Morgans. Other than the obvious - their beauty - they are easier to see!!!!!!!

the error that I think you are discribing is not terribley common, it goes for $3+ on ebay, in uncirculated condition.
