I'm no pro at this so wait for additional replies. I'm not sure if I see any wear in this photo, so I'm going to say MS-61 due to nicks on face and wing.

I see some very slight wear in the hair line and a few dings on on the eagles feathers. I'm going to say AU-58.

Could you locate the exact area of the wear on the hair? I want to see if I can find what you're referring to?

I see it right above the eye and just above where her ear would be.

I also see some wear on the feathers by the foot, but all around, nice Peace dollar!

No chance this is due to a weak strike?

Could be a weak strike, as Peace dollars are notorious for that. I am by far not a pro, but I'd say if it is a weak strike, maybe ms-62? I'd wait for more pros to chime in, though. I stll like the coin!

The weak strike that these coins are noted for make them difficult to grade.

I feel this coin saw the slightest bit of use before being plucked from circulation. I think it has a relatively strong srtike considering the series, the reverse looks particurly strong. I still must give it an AU-58 due to slight wear noted in the hair. But AU-58+. Still a nice coin.

This coin is at that "maybe Mint State, maybe high AU" stage which makes it all but impossible to grade accurately from photographs. With coins like this one needs to observe the surface luster, rotating it under direct light to see if that luster is broken in the areas which would receive wear first. It could be AU; it could be MS62-63. We'll never know for sure from a photograph, even such large and clearly-detailed shots as these.

The bit of wear previously mentioned, the circulated marks on both sides and a dullish appearance gives this a grade of AU-55. (The reverse does look weakly struck like many of this type, so a grading company may go MS-60/61 depending on "in-hand" observation). Nice example of a cool coin!

I'm going to disagreed and stay with my MS-61. The high points of the coin, cheek and neck, does not show any wear. I think it's worn dies.
