I read this auction, and this company says they comply with the hobby protection ace, however does anyone see copy stamped on any of the coins pictured, or is it just me? http://cgi.ebay.com/1909-S-LINCOLN-...IN_W0QQitemZ390107474572QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCoins_US_Individual?hash=item5ad437aa8c This stuff kills me!

Its cool, but since you brought up the subject of copies I think it is very annoying when you are searching for a coin that the results are littered with copies. They should have their own category

There are people who don't know exactly what plated means...

It's all in the marketing. Have you noticed when they sell gold indians on tv commercials they say "24 carat clad proof?" They say it with much enthusiasm like this is a great deal. They're not asking $700 for them though. I'm sure a lot of people don't know what clad or proof means.

The lot Bryan1315 linked is for 100 or them for $700. A increadible ripoff but amounts to $7 each. The ones on TV are for the introductory price of $19.95. I think when they say "24kt Clad Proof" They mean the coin is made from 24kt clad material, then "golden" plated. I also hate to have to wade through all the garbage copies on ebay listings. I am also wondering how that company can consider themselves "The Great American Coin Company" while attempting to infect the coin market with copies .

It is extremely annoying having to go through all the waste of time copy listings on ebay. In support of the argument for copies/ repros to have their own catagory is that there does seem to be a market for them. I recently listed a Gap Filler Queen Anne half crown, clearly listed as a one sided copy, for 99 pence on ebay UK. It sold for £22, so I emailed the buyer to confirm they hadn't made a mistake - they hadn't, and were very happy with the purchase. Seems mad when these types of legitimate copies are quite easily picked up cheaply, and even half way decent examples of the real coin are not too expensive (£80 -120).

I doubt that "09-S Lincoln" would fool many people, whether or not it was stamped "copy"

This seller has a lot of copy coins for sale on ebay. In all the pictures the coins are clearly marked COPY. Only problem is that when the coin turns op the "COPY" has disappeared from the coin. If you live in Denmark and and orders the danish 1924 or 1960 krone, they are valid as money in the Danish National Bank and therefore counterfeit and illegal to have. http://myworld.ebay.com/wuyunxu/
