a friend of mine was given this coin by his grandfather. he sent me the photos to post here to see if anyone could help identify it. I haven't actually held the coin so I don't know the dimensions of it.

The "guy in a dress" like that (it's actually a royal robe) is very distinctive - it's from the Kushan Empire. The woman in the shimmering gown on the other side is the Persian goddess of the moon, Mao (she's even named "MAO" in faint lettering to the right).

I believe the coin is a "bronze tetradrachm" or "bronze unit" from the reign of Kanishka I, circa 130 - 160 AD. Example on zeno.ru.

Nice Coin from the Kushan Empire ... :)
The image on the Observe (the king in the royal robe) is actually Kanishka I (the most famous among the Kushan Kings).
