I was at ebay looking for a coin when I saw this sell ads on the 1795 flowing hair dollar. Can the prices really reach this high for this coin?

If this was PCGS slabbed, PCGS lists the 2 leaf variety at $75,000.00 in MS60.

This is the coin variety that Washington, Jefferson, Hamilton and Franklin used in their transactions - how much more history could you ask?

Well, I would start with asking for factual history- Benjamin Franklin died in 1790 so he never saw any Federal coinage

He must be referring to Ben's lesser known cousin, Mortimer Franklin

It is possible that he could be talking about Mortimer......plus with the coin being mint state MS-61 apparently no one used this coin in a transaction, or at least they ware wearing gloves, maybe it was winter...

I actually think he is trying to entice a potential buyer to drop $70,000 on his coin. Although it could be done with out the little hype blurb below the pic. This coin is so beautiful it could do all the talking for itself. Personally I would take a drive down to Florida to personally view the coin before making a purchase of this size. But his listing has served its purpose, now several people (just from this forum) have become aware of the coin he wants to sell as well as his business. If nothing else I got to drool over that beauty for couple minutes (sigh) after I win the lottery (which is my retirement plan by the way).

I in fact have done business with Gary (Coin Gallery of Boca Raton) before, and was very impressed with their service and personability.

P.S.(Can anyone tell I am killing time right now?)

cownas22 - I'm doing the same thing. On another note, I did just add the ebay seller to my favorites list so maybe it's a sign. Let me fetch my checkbook and crunch some numbers...
