pattiewhack- yeah I agree with Snowman in that I had no knowledge of this coin before. Frankly I did a double take when I saw your images. Thanks for sharing!

The story behind the minting of that coin is amazing! To say the least, it reminds me of when I was in South Africa...had to take a trip to Swaziland. There I found two scruffy British types from Ethiopia that were returning home to Ethiopia in an old 1940's series one Land Rover Ambulance...was going to take them a LONG time to get back up to that side of the continent.

So, all this reminds me that in Africa, you have to get into "africa" mode...and when things are REALLY though, that's when your character shines...and in this case, coins are made...really neat coins!
