I have a few silver eagles UNC in the plastic wrap they came in and it seems they are getting dark spots on them. Does this bring down the value of the coin and also can it be cleaned?

Are they just toning spots? A pic would help answer your question.

That is odd if in a sealed package. Shouldn't tone or anything. Yesa as noted you should post a photo.

My wife has the 1986 Statue of Liberty set and there is some spotting there. I guess it affects value since they aren't high grade any more, but we are really just holding them for the silver value more than anything.

ill try to post a pic, until then though...they are bb sized dark almost black round spots. thanks for the help even with the limited info.
