OK, I have read that the weights of the Mexican Peso are quite consistent up until the early 1900's with exactly 24.4g of silver in them at 90% purity...which makes calculating the weight fairly easy.

However, I have not found the same information for the Mexican Real of the 1800/1700 period.

Is the 8 real = to a 1 peso?

Is the silver content and weight of a Real broken down consistently like it is for the peso? (aka, a 20 centavo piece has 20% of the weight of a 1 peso pieces)

For the spanish colonial reales here is the breakdown
8 reales 27.07 grms weight, .903 silver, .7859oz actual silver
4 reales 13.54 grms weight, .903 silver, .3931oz actual silver
2 reales 6.77 grms weight, .916 silver, .1993oz actual silver 1732-1760 (Ferd VI)
2 reales 6.77 grms weight, .903 silver, .1965oz actual silver 1760 (Carlos III)-1821
1 real 3.38 grms weight, .903 silver, .0981oz actual silver
When you get to the Mexican Republic Resplandores, everything stays the same except the 2 reales are 6.76 grms/ .1962oz actual silver
