Jim - WOW - never been to a show. You are missing something. The one in Raleigh is usually in mid summer - date is not yet in Coin World. I will let you know. I used to love the big shows in Boston and New York - hundreds of dealers - something for everyone. Down here they are smaller but there are still upwards of 100 dealers.

You got the numbers right.
But the 26 is the year after accession to throne (in this one is 1223 AH Mahmut II, roughly 1808+26=1834 AD) so all the coins minted in the same sultan's reign have the same date on one side and increasing numbers on the other one.

By the way, here in Turkiye, these coins (ones minted before 1836) need a permission to keep:)

RenaL,the date is actually 1833,as the year of accession - 1808 is Year 1.When converting,it is AH1223 + 25 = AH1248,because Year 1 is AH1223.

I said roughly 1834, because it also depends on the month of 1223+25/26.
I still need to study on these dates etc. Ottoman Empire used a completely different system about everything

You're welcome

Which year is the set? I don't know all of them, but the past issues were in plastic sleeves, then some were in hard plastic cases. 2005 was in a sandwich-like pack; two layers of PVC(or something like that) and a sponge-like layer in between where the coins are.
