Cherrypickers Guides lists Narrow and Wide Dates for 1869 Shield nickels with the Narrow Date being the less common variety.

i to thought about that, I have a 1868 and the date looks a lot smaller then my 1867

Yes, you have both types although the condition would relegate them to a dealer's bargain bin. FWIW, the CPG gives the Narrow Date a 3x premium in F12 and a 4x premium in AU50.
