Yesterday found this coin. I understand it's from Federal Republic of Germany and until 1990 it was West Germany, but may be somebody can help to ID this stamp (or countermark?) legend says: West Germany
Bundesrepublik Deutschland means Federal Republic of Germany, not West Germany. After uniting with the German Democratic Republic it kept the name of FRG, well, because that's what it is.
Okay, I see now - in the glue is the clear imprint of "West", reversed and curved, and below I see "Ge*m*sny". Maybe "Germany"? The "s" could be an "a", I suppose. Something was glued to this coin and pulled off, but I can't tell if these letters are incuse or raised. Odd.
Sorry, I see it now, it does say "West Germany" in English, mirror image impressed in glue. Must be a part of a souvenir, maybe something about the Berlin wall
