One of my favorite sets. I am building a toner set of both. Good luck!

do you let them tone by themselves or do you have a way to make the process go along faster?

Great looking set and I have one very similar to yours that I started in the last 70-s. Back when I started building the set I had them in a Whitman album and the coins took on a rose/violet rim toning and about 2 years ago I bought a Dansco album and put the set in it.

Are you going with the early proofs on this set?

That's an interesting question because the Dansco album I have it in is uncirculated and proofs but the proofs don't start until sometime in the 60's. I also have a Jefferson nickel set that it's in the same kind of Dansco album so I've never had any concern or pressure to get the early proof coins or even the 1950 to 1964.

I understand, I put a blank page in for the early proofs and sms coins. I still need '50-'55 but haven't really been looking lately. I gotten back into the habit of working too many sets at once.

I bought a blank page for the proof coins I have for my set since the album doesn't have holes for 1950-1964 proofs. I use the extra holes for special coins or occasionally duplicates I have trouble parting with.

My coins have toned naturally or I have bought them that way. I store them in dansco albums, so eventually they will develop some rim toning. Some of the older albums, especially Wayte Raymond, have the ability to make some vivid colors when given time and correct conditions. I dont know what it is about the pages, but they must have alot of sulfur or other chemicals that react with the silver and copper nickel.

I have no clue to tell you the truth, I have seen the dimes on ebay go for $300-$350 for the complete bu set but it only has the '68-'09 proofs. I added the extra page for the 1950 thru 1967 proof and sms dimes.

I read somewhere that you can order custom-made Dansco albums...has anyone ever thought about doing this to truly build the collection you are wanting to have? Some want spots that aren't included, some don't want silly things in there, etc.

Haven't seen anyone post about it so I guess not. Don't know how much it would cost, but it would be really cool to have!
