Just curious Bad Thad.
You've posted a lot of links about how "valuable" BU, high-end memorial cents are.
Has this changed your mind at all?
After all, there are probably hundreds and hundreds of these stashes across the good 'ole USA. That's the big problem with all the recent coinage. Billions and billions.
Sure there are hundreds and hundreds of stashes like this but that means hundreds and hundreds or rolls. This is a drop in the bucket compared to potential demand. Also bear in mind that stashes like this are getting hauled off to the bank all the time. Also there's the fact that it's only the one cent coins that don't circulate. You won't find even a single 1969-P quarter in this lot in AU condition because these were all worn by the time this hoard was started. If there are at least about 5000 quarters then there should be a really nice XF though. There will probably be a type "b" reverse quarter as well in nice VF or better. There should be several '82-P and '83-P quarters but quarters have a tendency to disappoint in old hoards like this because back in the day these were worth something people would remove a few for use in vending machines or for tolls and the like. This means the oldest quarters in the bunch will be far fewer in number and more likely to be scuffed from going in and out of the jar.
It seems to me that it would be a good time to start other collections.
While there might be a whole roll of '86-D's in the jar remember that on the east cost they would be '86-P's and I'm sure there are only a few really gemmy coins in the whole roll.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
