I got a 1985 mint set last week, as I am building a birth year set for my daughter. It came with a voyager dollar. Last night looking at my Krause book, They showed the dollar for that year as a National Parks dollar, and only mentioned one voyager dollar for that year. The only voyager dollar they mentioned was a mule with an Austrailian? obverse. Now I know I didn't get that lucky with a 10 dollar set, as Krause listed that dollar at $1,900. Was there a regular old voyager dollar for 1985 that they just didn't list?

Oh, and I don't have the full world Krause, just the North American version.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The Canadian Mint issued the voyageur dollar for circulation with a mintage of 3,105,000.It also issued the commemorative dollar for the 100th anniversary of the National Parks.537,000 silver specimen and 163,000 silver circulation. Both are worth $12 CAD in MS-65 or PF-67.The voyageur is $25 in MS-64.
Hope this helps.

Ah, Krause...that was your first mistake. You need a Charlton's.

Incidentally, I was at a coin show/sale last week here in Winnipeg, and it was amazing how reasonable obsolete Canadian currency was going for, especially the 1954 issue...even the Devil's Face varieties.

Hello Hippiebrian,
I had a 1985 Mule. it was actually a canadian reverse and the obverse showed the queen and
New Zealand , not australia.
i had pictures posted here. It is rare, very rare. It actually lists in Trends for 5000, but will bring much more now
if anyone would like to see / rexceive the images, send me a PM.
