Does anyone have knowledge if there are certified coins recovered from the World Trade Center/Ground Zero? I have heard of such an item however have not seen one yet. It's my understanding these were recovered from some vaults. I recently got back from a trip to NYC and couldn't help but feel for all those families that lost loved ones that day.

Here are two WTC coins. The ASE is a ground zero recovery piece. If I remember right the early ones were labeled gem uncirculated and the later ones were graded ms69 by pcgs. The N.Y. quarter was part of a wtc fund raiser conducted by pcgs. I think it raised $45,000.

I made the effort to try and purchase a silver eagle after they were removed from the WTC vaults and slabbed but prices went through the roof on all coins that were recovered and slabbed as such. Don't see many offered for sale now so your best bet would be to keep and eye on ebay!

Never, ever forget what islamic terrorists did that day. I own a few of these coins and the reason why I own them is to have a small piece of history that I can pass on.

Unfortunately, there are many people that believe 9/11 was all one big government conspiracy (i.e., radio controlled planes, missiles, etc.) and worst yet, some people are buying into this nonsense!

Never forget...never, ever!

I feel the same zakgold. I purchased 1 recovery coin for each of my sons. I live 15 miles due west of ground zero and saw the buildings burning that morning (my B-DAY). I still cry that time of year. The New York skyline is pretty a dominant feature here.
