I think this one is from switzerland. This type of design is similar to some of the American coinage, I like it!

Yep. "Helvetia" is Latin for "Switzerland".

When the Swiss hit on a good design, they stay with it. Forever!

I agree with you all about the quality of the designs but I've noticed how little wear there is on most of my Swiss coins even those going back 80+ years. Either they use very high grade metal to produce them or they stick all their small change into their safe deposit boxes?

Hi guys, I also agree with you about the great quality of Swiss coins, I'm used to ask some rolls to a Swiss coin collector, and the quality is so high.
About the design, I'm just waiting to see what may happen with Switzerland surrounded from euro countries.

Smiling ...

Yes, it is kind of strange that the Swiss notes have contemporary designs while the coins have basically been the same since the 1870s or so. And why would the euro affect the designs? The country is not even an EU member. So I guess we will continue to see Helvetia on the 1/2 fr, 1 fr and 2 fr coins, and her head on the 5, 10 and 20 rp/ct coins ...
