Sounds like it could be 10 centimes of Napoleonic France. Large N with a crown above was minted 1807 - 1810. Does it say Napoleon Empereur around 10 cent? Is there a wreath on the N's side? A picture would help greatly.

Does it look like this?

About the date. As I mentioned in my previous post the catalog gives the dates 1807 - 1810 only for this type. Napoleon Bonaparte took the Emperor title around 1805. The picture that I found on the internet shows 1800. I'm not sure how authentic that is. It could be either a trial pattern or a replica. And, of course, I cannot judge the date of your coin for I haven't seen it.

I also noticed that mine has the 'H' mint mark , which I have found to be 'La Rochelle' coin in the Krause books, which there are only 1808, 1809 and 1810, and it looks like theres a 1 after the 8, so mine must be a 1810H. Thanks for your help.
