dazzer71 New Member United Kingdom 35 Posts	Posted 11/15/2009 11:14 am some more metal detecting finds that are in poor condition,but I would like to know what they are if anyone can help so I can log what where an when I found them. you can just make out a horse on the one but the other side has gone. the other maybe a george 3? From what I see, the shield with a part of "Britanniarum REX FID DEF" visible around it, and the way the legend "Georguis III Dei Gratia" goes uninterrupted by the head, I'd guess it's a halfcrown, 1817 - 1820. dazzer71 New Member United Kingdom 35 Posts	Posted 11/16/2009 10:51 am the george coin is 32mm diameter. it matches spink #3789 half crown.it seems to be made of a copper alloy.theres some greening and what looks like rust.surely it would have had a silver coating at one time if it is a fake?the horse token is slightly smaller at 28mm Report this Post to the Staff
