here is my 1943 - I have owned it since about 1981. it has a blueish tinge around the obverse edge. I was a kid when I bought it but new coins then and wasnt 100% sure if it had been replated. I have another that was clearly a recoat as that one looks almost chrome like. My friend who I collected with back then thought this could be the real deal as we used this and the other as comparisons, but we still werent sure. everything looks very crisp and not clogged, particularly the wheat stalks are extremely crisp, all letter crisp. any thoughts ?

FYI I use tin foil for the background when scanning and that seems to give the best image. I compared to white background and there is a lot of color and detail loss with white background.

I also over scan by .5" all sides of the coin (i.e. set to scan 2" x 2" for a penny) to allow the tin foil to reflect the light, then crop the image and adjust the brightness and contrast by +5% to allow for the loss that occurred during scanning.
