Silly, I know, but I have a UK decimal penny collection (a bit more of a challenge since I'm from Canada). My two missing coins (apart from the ultra-rarities) were the 1992 bronze and 2009 Matthew Dent pennies.

Today I found the 2009 while roll-searching Canadian cents! It's not too often I get to cross one off my list so unexpectedly like this.

Does anyone here have info on how common the 1992 bronze is? Among a half dozen or so 1992s I pulled while on my recent trip to the UK, all were magnetic.

I have the following info:
In 1992 they minted 253,867,000 pennies total, and they don't differentiate by the content(UK source). Krause puts the entire figure in the plated steel category. It also says that bronze 1992 proof (and UNC?) 1d were issued in sets only. Back to the UK source: 1992 proof sets (with a bronze penny), "35,000 were issued in blue case". Were there other colors?

That's awesome - thank you svslav. It will save me looking through circulating 1992s. Does anybody have more info? What about a trends price for the 1992 bronze?

By the way, were there also bronze 1999 and 2000 not-for-circulation issues? I seem to recall reading this somewhere.

You're right, there were 1999 - 2001 UNC and proof bronze pennies, and 2000 proof silver one. Krause lists $0.50 for UNC, and $1.75 for proof 1992 bronze penny ($US); $0.20 for UNC, and $2.50 for proof 1999/2000/2001 bronze penny.
About $20 for 1992 UNC set; $40 to $46 for 1992 proof set.
$20 for 1999 - 01 UNC set; $55 for proof.
