Weight is 17.6 grams and when I did a acid test it was positve for 10k any ideas on what this coin is? coin is 1 3/4" x 1 1/2"

Sadly it's not genuine. The design resembles a Spanish 8 escudos, or "pirate doubloon" but the weight is too light; 8 escudos should weigh about 27 grams of 22k gold.

any idea why it would test positve for 10k? when I put the 14k acid its turn green and melted but not with the 10k acid?

I suspect it's been gilded. Testing acids only look at the composition of the surface; they can't tell the difference between something simply gold plated and something made of solid gold.

It's a fair question all the same. I saw this, and wondered how others would respond.
At first glance, the surfaces and details such as lettering looked modern to my eyes.

Careful with the acid testing, you may ruin a nice coin with it one day!
