I have a coin that reads "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1914" on one side and on the other side it reads "TWENTY CENTAVOS FILIPINAS" any ideas what it might be and what it would be worth?

It is a 20c made for the Philippines when it was a US territory (not yet a commonwealth) and not an independent country. I don't have a book, so I can't give you the price, but I can tell you that it is silver.

It's not that rare (with a mintage of 795k) because it is a normal amount of minting.

However, it does contain .0965 tr oz of silver, which works to about $1.80 of silver. If you can post a good picture of a coin, we can give you a better value. The buck 80 is only if it is a complete piece of scrap with no discernible design.

Krause gives the value of $2.50 in fine condition, $4.00 in very fine, $20.00 in extra fine, and $125 in uncirculated.
