ordered my 2009 P-D and silver proof set. That's one way to get my 2009 dimes and nickels, not to mention the p and d for all of the Lincolns. I think I will start doing this every year. Anyone else get them every year?

Yeah, but remember Matt........ The Cents are 95% Copper in the Sets. And the special "Satin Finish" dimes and nickels, of course, are very different than the regular business strikes released to the public !
"Those" regular ones are still tough to come by ! .....

Yep, I order a Silver Proof Set and a Mint Set every year. In 2005, they started using a "satin finish" for the Mint Sets so technically they are not the same coins as those that circulate(business strikes) but I do not care. I still try to get the business strikes as well but I do not go out of my way to do it, i.e. spending $10(or more) on a stupid 2009D nickel or dime

Why did you stop getting the silver set?

well I started collecting in 1999 when the State Quarters came out and ever since then I bought a mint set and a clad and silver proof set every year so I can have a complete collection of the State Quarters.

so I ended up with every mint set and clad proof set from 1999-2009 but for one reason or another was missing about 5 silver proof sets including the expensive 1999 so I decided to just sell my silver sets and stick to the clad proof set plus it's cheaper.

Would much rather have the silvers than the clad, but to each his own.

I agree I would obviously have the silver then the clad but being I had all the clad sets and just a few silver sets I decided to just stay with the clad for the State Quarter set
