Now that my collection of U.S. coins is organized (finally), I'm taking a look at my "darksider" collection. Oh dear, more 2x2's, more sleeves, more notebooks (yippee), oh and more to add to my wish list.
I'm looking at the Euro and have some questions that I know you "darksider" and Euro fans know the answers:
1) I'm looking for an honest "dealer". There are so many and I really don't want to get burned. What dealers have you used and recommend?
2) Books on Euros - suggestions
I guess that's all. That was simple!
Thanks all!
Debbie

Thanks Shatsi! I've been searching through all of my "Darksiders" today and have been quite surprised at what I found - Chile, Russia, Luxenbourg, Mexico, Congo, Great Britain, Australia, Filipinas, Turkey, Belgique, Hong Kong, Nederlanden, Deutsches Reich, Deutschland, China and France, to mention only a few. I'm not done yet either. I'm curious to read what Countries have gone to the Euro. I'll do some internet searching in the meantime.
Figures that it was Terry...he's the one that got me to thinking just this morning - hmmmmmm, I wonder what I have hidden away and whala!
Thanks again!

Thank you ageka for the wonderful info and links. Yes, through my research I have discovered that "EURO" was proper and that "EUROS" was not. I'm well traveled within the Continental U.S. but, I just gave an example of my Worldly shortcomings. Thanks again! ;-0

It is a problem in daily use here like if you want to say you got a pound of euros in your pocket you have to say a pound of euro coins and put the plural on the coins or notes word So apart from people going to school and having spelling exams most people will use the plural ( catch myself doing it most of the time ) I enjoy your posts so zero critique was intended

No critique taken. I can certainly understand the confusion as the Euro is rather new to everyone. They are beautiful coins though. Thanks ageka!

IS there a particular Euro that is considered more beautiful than any other EURO- Do each of the different countries have their own desgings. I have not followed this EURO coinage-so am totally ignorant- COuld someone place a digital of their most treasured EURO on this page? I would like to see a couple of photos. Thanks in advance- PS: I Have collected probably over 150 countries during my 50 years of collecting- but have yet to acquire a Euro. Dewey

The regular circulating euro coinage varies, on one side, from country to country. I really like the Greece $1 euro as it has their famous OWL on it! But, I must add there are quite a few attractive circulating coins from many euro nations. I have a tremendous silver commemorative euro collection but would be hard pressed to say which one I like the best. I really do like the Austrian coins as the detail is fantastic and of course they do the $25 silver/niobium each year and those coins are in a class all themselves as niobium can be color controlled during the process so they have had green with silver, blue with silver, purple with silver (my favorite) and this year golden brown with silver. I actually have a couple of this years issue coming in the near future and they are extras that will have to be sold due to their cost as, if I remember correctly, they are around $60.00 U.S. when they are released. None the less, when they arrive, they will be for sale as I only keep one of each.

Thanks for the informational site Ageka!!! Gives all the newcomers a place to have a look at what many of us have already found. The Austrian niobiums will probably become a legendary set should they continue the series. The only one I lack is the first one so I continue to look for one that is affordable as I am as tight as bark on a tree!!
